About the IMTA
(Indian Music Therapy)
To propogate Music Therapy as an alternative intervention in hospitals, hospices and various other areas, where music could be profitably used for the benefit of mankind. To make a professional forum for the working Music Therapists of India so that they can meet at regular intervals to exchange their professional skills and understanding of this nascent subject.
When We Started
The Indian Music Therapy Association (IMTA) was established in 2018 to promote the use of music as a therapeutic tool for mental and emotional well-being. IMTA aims to standardize music therapy practices across India and foster research in the field.

All of us are aware that the Indian approach to music therapy,which is as unique as its ragas holds much promise in the World of musicians as well as therapists.
It is our members who have come forward to take this movement into new areas of specialization like medicine,psychology, psychotherapy, life-style, yoga etc. It is a pleasurefor all of us to meet once a year to hear them sing or speak.
